Prunus padus (Bird cherry)

Bird Cherry is a scented early bloomer, with white clusters of flowers in late spring. The cherries are dark and bitter fruits that provide a highly attractive food source for birds, such as thrushes, blackbirds and songbirds. The tree's association with birds as a food source is what gives it the name bird cherry.
