Bareroot Euonymus europaeus (Spindle)
A versatile native shrub that offers exceptional seasonal interest, particularly in autumn when its foliage turns vibrant shades of crimson and its distinctive pink and orange fruits split open to reveal bright orange seeds. The corky ridges along its stems add winter texture, making it valuable for year round garden structure. Well suited to mixed hedgerows or woodland edges, it thrives in most soil types and tolerates exposed sites. Its nectar rich spring flowers attract pollinators, while the autumn berries provide food for birds. With its moderate growth rate and tolerance of pruning, it makes an excellent addition to wildlife friendly gardens and naturalistic planting schemes.
