Bareroot Ligustrum ovalifolium (Californian Privet)
A versatile evergreen with glossy, oval leaves that form dense, lush hedging perfect for creating privacy screens and formal garden boundaries. The plant produces clusters of creamy white flowers in summer followed by black berries, offering seasonal interest while maintaining its neat appearance year round. Known for its vigorous growth and adaptability, it thrives in most soil types and tolerates both sun and partial shade, making it exceptionally reliable for urban and coastal gardens. With excellent response to regular trimming, it can be maintained at heights from 1 to 4 metres, developing a thick, impenetrable barrier that withstands pollution and exposed sites better than many other hedging plants.
