Variant

A towering evergreen conifer that commands attention with its majestic, pyramidal form and soft, blue green needles arranged densely along sweeping branches. The distinctive cones with their protruding three pointed bracts add ornamental interest, hanging gracefully from the branches as they mature from purple to brown. One of the world's tallest trees in its native habitat, it grows with remarkable vigour in moist, well drained soils, developing thick, corky bark that becomes deeply fissured with age. Perfect as a specimen in large landscapes or parkland, its fast growth and elegant silhouette make it equally valuable for windbreaks or screening. The citrus scented needles and attractive branching pattern create year round beauty while providing valuable habitat for wildlife.
