Quercus ilex (Holm oak)
A magnificent evergreen oak with a stately presence, featuring glossy dark green leaves with silvery undersides that create a beautiful shimmering effect in the wind. This robust tree develops an attractive, rounded crown with age, making it an excellent specimen for large gardens and parkland. Exceptionally tolerant of coastal conditions, drought and poor soils, it thrives in full sun while providing valuable shelter for wildlife. Its slow growth and longevity ensure it becomes a lasting landscape feature, with the added benefit of producing small acorns that attract birds. Perfect for creating Mediterranean style gardens or as a resilient windbreak in exposed locations.
