Variant

A deciduous tree with a charming, irregular crown that offers year round interest, beginning with clusters of delicate pink tinged white blossoms in spring. These are followed by small, greenish yellow crabapples that mature to red and provide food for wildlife through autumn and winter. The oval leaves emerge fresh green, turning golden yellow in autumn, while the gnarled branches add winter character. Well suited to mixed hedgerows or as a standalone specimen, this hardy native tree thrives in a variety of soils and tolerates exposed sites. Its compact size and wildlife value make it particularly valuable for smaller gardens and ecological planting schemes, where it supports pollinators and birds throughout the seasons.
