A remarkable bergenia that sparkles with clusters of pure white flowers held above glossy, rounded leaves that develop striking burgundy edges in cooler weather. The delicate bell shaped blooms appear in early spring, resembling shimmering droplets against the evergreen foliage that provides structure throughout the year. More refined than many larger leaved varieties, it forms neat mounds of foliage that retain their polished appearance without becoming coarse. The leaves transition beautifully through the seasons, from fresh green in spring to richly tinted in autumn and winter. Perfect for lighting up shady borders or edging pathways, it thrives in most soils with good drainage, tolerating both sun and shade while resisting damage from slugs and snails.
