Elaeagnus x ebbingei (Oleaster) 'Compacta'
A versatile evergreen shrub prized for its resilience and year round interest, featuring leathery leaves with silvery undersides that shimmer in the breeze. From autumn to winter, it produces small, intensely fragrant flowers that perfume the air, followed by ornamental red berries. Exceptionally tolerant of coastal winds, poor soils, and urban pollution, it makes an excellent windbreak, privacy screen, or dense hedge. Its fast growth and adaptability to both sun and partial shade make it a practical yet attractive choice for challenging garden spots where other plants might struggle.
