Hydrangea quercifolia (Oakleaf hydrangea) 'Snow Queen'
Majestic in both foliage and flower, this oak leaved hydrangea produces spectacular conical clusters of pure white blooms that age to soft pink as summer progresses. The large, lobed leaves with their distinctive oak like shape develop rich burgundy and purple tones in autumn, creating a striking contrast with the persistent flower heads. Unlike many hydrangeas, it thrives in drier soils once established and tolerates more sun exposure while maintaining its elegant form. The strong, upright stems hold the substantial flower panicles perfectly without drooping, making it ideal for borders or as a dramatic focal point.
