Osmanthus x burkwoodii (Osmanthus)
A versatile evergreen shrub prized for its dense, dark green foliage and highly fragrant white flowers that bloom profusely in spring, filling the garden with their sweet scent. The small, tubular blossoms cluster along the stems, followed by occasional blue black berries. With a naturally rounded habit, it works beautifully as a hedge, screen, or standalone specimen, and can be easily pruned to maintain shape. Thriving in sun or partial shade, it adapts well to most well drained soils and tolerates urban conditions, including pollution. This hardy plant offers year round structure and seasonal fragrance, making it a valuable addition to borders, woodland edges, or near pathways where its perfume can be appreciated.
