Variant

A striking deciduous subshrub that forms an airy cloud of silvery stems and finely cut, aromatic grey green foliage. From midsummer to early autumn, it becomes covered in masses of small, lavender blue flowers that create a hazy, ethereal effect in borders. Extremely drought tolerant once established, it thrives in hot, sunny spots with well drained soil, making it perfect for water wise gardens. The upright, branching habit adds wonderful vertical structure to plantings, while the flowers attract pollinators. Left standing through winter, the silvery stems provide architectural interest. This hardy plant offers long lasting colour and texture with minimal care, ideal for adding a soft, romantic feel to sunny borders and gravel gardens.
