Pyracantha coccinea (Firethorn) 'Red Star'
A robust evergreen shrub valued for its spectacular display of bright berries in fiery shades of red, orange or yellow that persist through winter. Its dense, thorny growth makes it perfect for creating impenetrable hedges or training against walls for added security. Clusters of white flowers in early summer attract bees, while the berries provide a vital food source for birds during colder months. Highly tolerant of poor soils, drought and urban conditions, it thrives in sun or partial shade with minimal care. Ideal for adding vibrant colour and structure to borders, screening or wildlife gardens while offering excellent deterrent properties.
